Eelco Dijkstra
Owner of Castalla 1809
Eelco is Dutch and until 2022 worked in management consultancy. Throughout his 30+ year business career Eelco traveled all over the world and as such stayed in 1000's of hotels. Over the past 18 years, Eelco developed a passion for the Alicante Spain region. He always wanted to bring his travel experiences together into a small boutique hotel concept in which the international traveler plays a central role. The importance of ecology and an eye for detail were important factors in the realisation of Castalla 1809. Together with his wife Ritah they have been working hard since 2022 to realise their dream of owning their own B&B in Castalla, Spain.

Manager
Ritah Nango Dijkstra was born in Uganda and moved to the UAE where years later she met Eelco. Ritah has over 10 years in hospitality experience. She worked in Uganda in a 5 star hotel and worked on one of Dubai's largest private luxury yachts. Ritah also has a creative talent and enjoys painting and interior design. She brings her energy, experience and talents together as Manager in Castalla 1809.
Daniel
Sports and Fitness Professional
We are thrilled to introduce Daniel Otieno Kidew our dedicated and highly skilled sports and fitness professional. Daniel was born in Kenya and has worked in 5 star hotel hospitality in the UAE for the past 20 years. With certifications as a gym instructor and personal trainer from Impact British Training Solutions, Daniel is also a proud member of UAE REPS (Registered Exercise Professionals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi). As a Level 1 and 2 Swimming Coach certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association in cooperation with the UAE Swimming Federation, Daniel brings a wealth of expertise to our team.
Daniel's extensive experience includes leading boot camp training sessions for corporations and team-building events, making him an exceptional asset for both individual and group fitness initiatives. Fluent in English and German, Daniel's diverse skill set and commitment to excellence ensure that our guests receive the highest quality of training and support.

Kai
Marketing
Kai, who is Dutch and is the oldest son of Eelco, recently graduated from Tilburg University with a degree in Supply Chain Management. As he begins his professional career, Kai will also dedicate his expertise to manage the marketing and communication activities for Castalla 1809.
